August 16 Family Mesage

Dear Elkhart Families:

I am very glad to be back at work with your students.  Kindergarten starts on Tuesday, which means we are back to our regular school routine.  This year we will be focusing on making sure that all of our students are here and on time every day.  Attendance is important to student success.  If your child misses more than 5 days a year, they are at a high risk for never being proficient in reading and dropping out of high school.  Please make sure that you make getting your child to school a priority!

Starting next week we will issue Jean's Day tickets each Thursday for good behavior and work completion.  If your child does not get a Jean's Day ticket, you should contact the teacher to figure out the issue.  Please do not send your child in jeans if they did not receive a ticket.

Also, please make sure your child is in the appropriate school uniform, everyday.

Please remember to fill out free and reduced lunch forms for your student, if you qualify.
